Your Body – An Asset or a Liability?... Dr. Anjali Jadhav.
“Aarogyam Dhanasampada” is a Sanskrit saying that means "Health is true wealth." But in reality, how do we look at our body?
Do we treat it as our greatest asset in life, or as a burden we’re forced to carry?
In this article, let’s explore whether our body is an asset or a liability, and how that choice lies entirely in our hands.
???? The Body – A Divine Gift
The most precious gift every human receives at birth is the body.
Through this body, we experience every moment of life —
Love, connection, touch, joy
Pain, struggle, learning, and growth
When the body is healthy, our decision-making, productivity, and creativity flourish.
We move toward our goals with full strength and feel energized and joyful.
So, the body is not just a structure of bones and muscles — it's a living, breathing treasure.
???? But What If We Neglect This Responsibility?
When we:
Eat unhealthy food
Avoid exercise
Don’t get enough sleep
Stay constantly stressed
Indulge in harmful addictions
Hold onto anger and resentment
Suppress emotions
Feel jealousy, envy, or negativity
Our natural peace and energy start to break down.
And then we experience:
Fatigue, indigestion, weight gain
Blood pressure issues, diabetes, chronic tiredness
Mental unrest, mood swings
Physical ailments
A depressing outlook on life
In extreme cases, even suicidal thoughts
A drastic drop in our performance
At such times, our body begins to feel like a burden.
Hospitals, tests, medications, and reports start dominating our life.
And so, what was once an asset slowly turns into a liability.
Whether Your Body Becomes an Asset or a Burden is YOUR Choice
Think of your body as a bank account —
Every day you deposit wholesome food, physical movement, positive thoughts, deep breathing, meditation, and laughter.
If you manage your body well, it will:
Be your long-lasting companion
Help you experience life fully
Give you confidence and joy
So What’s the Answer?......
Yes — your body is a priceless asset,
But if you don’t take proper care, it can become a liability.
What Can You Do to Preserve This Asset?.......
1. Dedicate time daily for walking or exercise
2. Eat a balanced, wholesome diet suitable to your constitution
3. Sleep well and on time
4. Practice meditation or Smile Mudra to release stress
5. Cleanse and rest your body regularly
Final Note:
Taking care of your body isn’t a burden —
It’s a service to your soul.
This body serves you day and night. It deserves your love and care.
So, how do you see your body?
An asset or a liability?
The decision is yours.
Keep smiling — because true health begins with a smile
